Update in Coccidioidomycosis - Online
The field of infectious diseases is constantly changing posing challenges for front-line healthcare providers in the clinic and hospital settings. Coccidioidomycosis is an infection caused by the fungus Coccidioides, endemic to the southwest and selected areas of western USA. This course will provide up to date, concise and evidence-based presentations to keep you on top of the coccidioidomycosis challenges you face daily in practice. The course will feature lectures, case presentations and interactive discussions to enhance providers' knowledge to recognize, diagnose, and treat typical manifestations of coccidioidomycosis they will commonly see in practice.
Target Audience
This course is designed for Primary Health Care Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants.
Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Recognize the clinical manifestations of Coccidiomycosis
- Review limitations of diagnostic testing, including serology, culture, and imaging
- Provide comprehensive management for pulmonary coccidioidomycosis
- Identify scenarios where referral to Infectious Diseases is recommended
