Understanding Collaborative Practice in Alabama

Information gleaned from collaborative practice audits and inspections indicate deficiencies and lack of understanding of the rules and regulations governing collaborative practice. Therefore, information presented in this course will include an overview of the rules for the establishment of a collaborative practice, guidelines on how the practice is to be conducted with regards to supervision and quality assurance, and how to successfully complete quality assurance reviews.

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Discuss the laws and rules governing collaborative practice.
  • Define the roles and responsibilities of physicians, nurse practitioners, and nurse midwives in collaborative practice.
