Transgender Health with Practical Tools for Providers

Transgender and non-binary patients are a diverse group which may present with specific healthcare needs. However, few clinicians have formal training in addressing concerns unique to this population. This session will help clinicians identify strategies for creating a welcoming environment for gender diverse patients. Faculty will also discuss dosing, effects, risks and monitoring of various hormone treatment regimens for transgender and non-binary patients.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify strategies to make your practice welcoming to gender diverse patients.
  • Recognize the various hormone regimens for trans masculine and trans feminine individuals.
  • List some of the effects of hormone regimens including potential risks.
