SUD Care in the Veterans Health Administration
This recorded, knowledge-based webinar series will increase provider to provide an overview of the settings, evidence-based treatment options, and core characteristics of substance use disorder (SUD) treatment available to Veterans. This special presentation of the Best SUD Care Anywhere webinar series will highlight the VA treatment providers based outside SUD specialty care may not be familiar with the array of settings within which VA can treat Veterans with SUD; absent that awareness, implementation of Stepped Care (a priority feature of VHA SUD care) may not be fully realized; it is anticipated that the knowledge gained from this webinar will inform efforts at making the highest quality SUD treatment available to every Veteran in their preferred location of care. SUD treatment encounters will increase as reflected by increases in PSY36 and PSY37. Specifically, the presentation will provide an overview of the greater use of evidence-based treatments and harm reduction interventions as measured by SUD16, OEND2 and OEND3, as well as the PDSI Stimulant Safety metrics for treatment of stimulant use disorder appropriate for interprofessional healthcare teams.
