Empowering Women Through the Reproductive Years: Hot Topics in Contraception and Menopause for the Primary Care Provider

Reproductive health occupies a central role in patient well-being, especially as they face fertility decisions and experience the menopausal transition. To optimize reproductive health throughout the life course, it is essential that PCPs be equipped to recognize patient needs, refer patients to specialist care when necessary, and provide therapeutic management based on shared decision-making approaches.

  • Counsel women of reproductive age regarding indications, risks, and benefits of currently available LARCs
  • Provide timely referral for LARC insertion and removal
  • Evaluate safety and efficacy data for new and emerging therapies for VMS
