Course Overview

Developed in collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Association

The Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine (MA BORIM) has set forth a training requirement for physicians and other health care professionals who serve an adult population. This 5-part series aligns with MA BORIM’s requirement and exposes clinicians to prevention techniques, psychopharmological options and care planning for patients with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias including patient centered approaches to communicating with the patient and their family.

This training series satisfies the requirements of MGL c. 112, s. 2.

Module 2: Screening & Testing
Module 3: Non-Pharmacologic Management
Module 4: Pharmacologic Treatment
Module 5: Ongoing Care 

Target Audience

Physicians and other health care professionals required to take Alzheimer's disease and related dementias training, and others interested in this topic.

Learning Objectives

  • Employ a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease or other dementia
  • Describe non-pharmacological management options
  • Discuss pharmacological treatment, including psychopharmacological options
  • Identify the elements required for billing Care Planning under CPT Code 99483
