
Safe Sedation Training – Moderate
Provide team members with important training in safe sedation at a moderate level that they can complete on their own time in their own spaces.

Target Audience
This activity is intended for all non-anesthesiologist physicians, nurses, dentists, and care team members involved in delivering moderate (conscious) sedation to patients.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Identify a high-risk patient
Differentiate deep sedation from moderate sedation
Assessing the patient for responsiveness, airway adequacy, ventilation, oxygenation, and circulation
Monitor effectively (including capnography)
Rescue a patient from deeper-than-intended sedation
Titrate sedatives and analgesics based on pharmacologic characteristics
